The Challenge

 

With over 9,000 employees across Europe, Implenia’s employee-base largely consists of non office workers, who are necessitating the need for a solution that could seamlessly mobilise employees across various roles and project sites to innovate. Implenia faced the challenge of finding a straightforward, yet powerful tool to unite their diverse workforce in pursuing innovation – from accountants to project managers, to construction workers.

The Solution

 

The intrapreneurship program by rready, combines intelligent software, AI capabilities, and coaching services to help employees execute on innovation. It’s designed for ease of use by anyone, regardless of job, department, or expertise.

Implenia rolled out the program to empower employees and foster intrapreneurship through structured processes, coaching, budgetary support, and dedicated time spent on innovation. From the start, all ideas were welcomed, creating a scalable, replicable, and measurable concept.

The program offers a standardized framework for employees to share ideas, develop them, and turn them into viable business models. The process includes three phases - covering validation, testing, and potential implementation.

Implenia’s Innovation Hub Team promoted the program early on through site visits and visual materials, enabling direct engagement and highlighting the importance of innovation for the company. All online elements were made mobile-friendly to ensure accessibility and encourage collaboration and knowledge sharing across all company levels.
 

The online platform also showcases projects to inspire contributions. Through the program, a strong, organization-wide community has been fostered, strengthened by regular innovation events.

According to Diana Fischer, Innovation Analyst at Implenia, success comes from keeping employees engaged, encouraging new ideas, and celebrating both wins and learnings through open communication.

 

The Results

 

Implenia has already seen 120 ideas submitted to the intrapreneurship program and several patents have successfully been registered. Beyond this, the company has recorded an ROI of more than 320% (based on the fees linked to the rready services).

The program has transformed business at Implenia, enabling the company to harness the collective creativity of their workforce and drive sustainable growth across all operations.

According to Karel van Eechoud, Implenia’s Head of Innovation: “The decentralized approach of the program is effective at generating and testing new ideas, and also helps to engage our people making us more attractive as an employer.“
